Fresh from my old, dusty and neglected inbox comes new remixes by ….drumroll……………………..TUFTSMANIA’S FAVORITE!!! The Bloody Beetroots. I was sent these a couple weeks ago and just couldn’t get around to posting about them. This Beetroots track is a remix of UK’s Captain Phoenix - Pistols and Hearts on Kind Canyon Records. I had been a fan of Captain Phoenix for a bit now, so I was excited to hear that my favorite italians had a chance to work their magic on the track.
The original track is a classy joint, but the Beetroots touch is nothing near it. Completely grimy, scratchy, raw, and trademark Bloody Beetroots. Where the original track would have failed in a club, this remix now makes it a winner. The track retains enough of the original lyrics and melody to be discernible as a Captain Phoenix track, but now it’s a completely evolved beast.
I urge you to listen and blast it in your cubicle, out your window, during your set, into your ears, dance with grandpa.
