the videoband, an introduction

Perhaps they don’t need an introduction, butTHE VIDEOBAND! trio from France, Sweden, and the Netherlands, has been making me freak out, overheat, melt and turn into vapor for about 2 months now.
I had originally been introduced to them through their remix of London’s Pop outfit, Sugababes “About you now” by a friend of mine. The stuttery, distorted, high contrast sound was right up my alley. They have since put out remixes of Yelle, Rihanna, and La Parisienne (exxxxxcellent) to name a few. All of these remixes are very, very attractive. (check them out on the myspace –or keep checking here)
definitely better than the original….but you be the judge:

myspacer Dylan says:
Where have you been?
Well Dylan, the answer is simple. I have been …here.
have you heard neon coyote lately?
…I certainly have.
…you haven’t been posting them lately
Nope, you are exactly correct, I haven’t.
…and you used to all the time
Simply amazing sir, you are correct once again.
so i’m confused because their new stuff is by far their best stuff yet. they just get better and better.
I would expect no less from NC. In fact, I would expect any self respecting band to get better with time. It only seems natural to me.
the ce jeu remix is 9 minutes long and on repeat all day.. the bossy remix should be played during a women’s runway show.. and his cheap thrillz minimixes are amazing.. though i don’t know how much he’s letting be heard of them now. check them out again.
Alright, now that myspacer Dylan has completed giving me the what’s what in coyote land, I will drop some mad science on what’s real good on these streets.

things I love: australia, bag raiders, midnight juggernauts, knightlives

I find myself saying this at least once a day. Australia, with the bag raiders, midnight juggernauts, and knightlife make my life that much better.
In Australia, it’s a big gay circle jerk of bands that put out amazing sounds and once they’re done, they all trade tracks and put out amazing remixes. After that they drink edit: talk shit on fosters beer and hang out with kangaroos all day. And when they flush their toilets the water spins the other way.
Here are 3 infinitely amazing remixes these kids did of each other’s tracks:
sooo sick.
This already very healthy MJ track gets their bags raided. You won’t guess where they take this track until you get into the first chorus. ohhhh eeemmmm geeeeeeeee
Midnight Juggernauts - Twenty Thousand Leagues (Bag Raiders Remix)
sooo sick.
Classic Knightlife drums and synth rhythm right here. ON TOP OF A BAG RAIDERS TRACK!!!!FUCK!!!
Bag Raiders - Nil By Mouth (Knightlife Remix)
sooo sick.
Alright fine, this one is a Bag Raiders remix of Chicago’s Kid Sister, but it is UNSTOPPABLE. The signature Bag Raiders synth is in full force at the close of the track. hell yes.
Kid Sister - Pro Nails (Bag Raiders Remix)
ahh, tres bon

I’ve got a shit ton of backlog toplist tracks that I haven’t gotten around to writing about, so I’m going to take my damn sweet time to do it.
As always, all you’ll find here is the butter in my music collection.
Two old favorites… What I’ve been listening to on repeat is a Mathematikal ‘plonk-ized‘ re-rub a dub dub of a Harris Robotis‘ track, Go.
The track starts out deceptively docile, so be careful.
WHAT IS UP MALTA!!!
Harris Robotis - GO (Mathematikal GOes to re-rub university)
counter productive

I’m seriously here trying to study for midterms and I obviously have music playing. Unbeknownst to me, a track is nearing that will destroy any hopes that I had in getting any learning done.
Gaetan knows what’s up with Bryan Cox’s “Where you at” — right at home with some dirty bloody beetroots tracks.
Wait till the synth drops. Once it does, it won’t stop. Best if used in small room with max capacity of bodies + 100, or with headphones at max volume + 100. (sweaty + loud)
