For the past 2 weeks, all day, all weekend, I’ve been repeating the track I’m about to speak about.
you definitely want to
This track was immediately pleasing on first listen (just like star guitar was, and is). I wanted to make ABSOLUTELY SURE that this wasn’t some sort of shitty ‘great first impression-sucks on 2nd listen’ type thing. So that’s what I did. I stress tested the fuck out of this track for 2 straight weeks. So what do I say?
Verdict: Shinichi Osawa’s remix of Felix Da Housecat’s “Radio” cannot be stopped. No filler here.
For those of you familiar with Tokyo’s Shinichi Osawa, the track has all his signature sounds. The heavily processed-treble-infested high hats (tambourines for good measure), INSANE contrasty bass, and happy-oh-so-happy synth. I can’t get enough, the dancing kids can’t get enough, you definitely can’t get enough.
I haven’t heard the original track. Am I curious as to what it sounds like? Do I want to check it out.
nah. (i probably will anyway)

i totally concur with your love for shinichi osawa. there’s such an uplifting energy to his stuff, and it’s not “just” dance music, it’s so much more.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
