I had no idea, but I was just tipped off by Jane Metromix on this devastating news for hipsters everywhere. Father of Steve Aoki, ‘hipster icon in outer space’, Hiraoki Aoki (aka: Rocky), died last week. He was a former speedboat racer, olympic wrestler, pimp, baller, ice cream man, baby maker, and founded the Benihana amusement eating restaurant chain.

The memorial is set for this weekend in New York.

I hope Steve perms his hair in memory of his pops.

    They left out the suburban blogger/azn/science kid.

    I think they were hinting at him through the robot though. You don’t do drugs though. …and if you did you would be smarter than that robot and just make your own.

    If this whole science IRL thing doesn’t work out you should just make bootleg versions of all the cool hipster drugs like xanax and…um… …viagra. $$$$$$$$$$
