GLOVES OF COURSE. Also known as Yama Indra of Damn Arms (RIP) + being a Bang Gang 12″ artist it’s obvious he’s good. Now is GLOVES starting to sound familiar? Of course, because you’ve heard his material here and here.

He’s blessed us this morning with his latest work remixing The Scare’s upcoming single. If any of you follow my tweets, you may recognize this track from the funky little ‘Body Torque’ minimix that GLOVES whipped up a few months ago.

Yama forgoes most of the original melody samples and leverages some choice lyrical cuts creating this poppin’ disco masterpiece. Yes, my friends…. 2010 is going to be great. Watch out for upcoming GLOVES remixes for Miami Horror in the near future!

It’s Label Compilation Month!!

image: happy birthday LB

First it was about Binary’s release of LA Lights (fully killing the LA scene), Kitsune’s excuse to see naked skinny people for KM8 (fully killing everything), and now I simply CANNOT get over how good Bang Gang 12’s first official compilation album is (fully killing on the molecular level).

Earlier this year BG12’s (link to probably the best made label blog in the industry, sup kripyjoined forces with Modular (I totally called it. what’s left, Cutters?). Anyway, the kings of all things ‘pun’ just released the first official BG12’s Radicool Compilation featuring super hits and upcoming unreleased gems from their artist roster and WOW. Let’s just say the first track is Shazam’s ‘Hello Cat’ and the rest is history. The comp comes on 2 discs. First one being a selection of single tracks and the second being a fully mixed jam session by Doom and Hoodrat, the two label bosses at BG12’s.

First watch this promo video as Gus da Hoodrat takes you on the “Academy of Art” experience.

Next, you’ve heard at least couple tracks on this compilation on this website for sure. (PYX, Destination etc)
Here’s something I haven’t posted, but it’s on the comp, which you really need to get. Coming up smack in the middle of the first disc is this gem from Cassian (that stands for awesome). Sampling only the best of arcade fighting games…

Cassian – Final Round

With that, listening to the full compilation and listening to the mix doom and hoodrat threw down, I honestly can’t wait for what ‘10 has in store. Namely Cassian’s ‘Friday Night’. TUUUUNE! (you can hear it on the mixed disc)

BUY.

damn.  feeling pretty wet right now.  can someone send me a TUNE towel so i can dry myself off?

There’s not much I can really say about the upcoming Kitsune Maison Compilation 8.  Video sums it up. So many JAMS on this. Do want.

Who else would I be talking about?  Hemingway brings us back to his 116ft super yacht for an intergalactic space-cruise through the milky way of funk.

Just as I was feeling the yacht-funk vibe taper off, James Harris aka Hemingway brings the vibe to new heights with his rework of Keenhouse’s “Ari-es” taking us to interstellar-bongo-yacht-funk critical mass. Believe me when I have said and now say again, Hemingway ain’t nothin’ to fuck with.

This remix is being released in promotion of the upcoming Keenhouse single release through our super dreamy friends, Binary Records. The guys over there are doing really good things in LA and are having a huge bash celebrating their first compilation album, “LA Lights” next week. (FREE. Tues Oct. 13 @ the Echo)
Yes, I’ve listened.
Yes, I’m vouching.
Yes, it’s awesome.

Digital release of “LA Lights” will be next Tuesday and it will be available EVERYWHERE. In the meantime, stream the hell out of it here.

So now enjoy the whole reason of this post, Hemingway’s vision of Ari-es.

Jeff Goodhart is world famous and a really big deal.

Who made it out to the BLOG VOLTRON party last month?  Who had the time of their lives? If you missed out, here’s your chance to make things right.

We’re not ready to let the summer go yet so come on out and enjoy our Endless Summer! I’m sooo excited for this one and we’ll be back on the roof of the Standard Downtown LA. We’ve got an amazing lineup of talented DJs that will be filling your ears with sonic delight all day and into the sunset.

Most noteworthy is my favorite musical female fashion team, POSSO the DJ. They have a super cool line and we’re really lucky to have them. They’re going to absolutely bring the endless summer vibe to a higher level. Check out the Posso Universe for a glimpse of all that is good.
