Ok, so I know, vacation means no computers, no work blah blah. Well, fuck vacation.
I got a message earlier this morning and boy was I excited. I’ve been in contact with the Buffet Libre guys for about a year now and they’ve been putting out awesome mixtapes, collaborations, parties, nonstop. I first heard about their latest project about 4 or 5 months ago. At that time the Rewind Project was merely in the planning stages with no actual evidence of existence… but now it’s all coming together.
July 15 marks the release of their first part of two in a series called “REWIND”. It’s an 80’s music cover project put on by Buffet Libre who enlisted the help of the blog world’s favorite electronic producers to re-make their favorite 80’s tunes.

I am completely shitting myself with the onslaught of amazing tracks that have been gracing my ears. The past couple of weeks have been all about new talent, new tracks, and new discoveries. Why did they pick me to listen to these tracks? One may never know, but I’m not going to complain.

The magical Neon Coyote from Brooklyn is back just unleashed a remix of Danger’s 9H20. I recently was introduced to Neon Coyote, but this is huge!!! The perfect balance of loop/mashed female voices, and 80’s synth building into one hell of an ending.

This week, all I’ve been doing is fill out paper work. file papers. shred papers. organize papers. There is much shit to do before school starts again. (good thing i’m going surfing tomorrow)
Now onto something of more interest:
I haven’t heard much coming from Poland lately, but this morning I was beaming when I received this mixtape from MENTALCUT. The mixing and blends are top notch, but I’ll spare you of my poor grammar and just quote him:
“This is my latest mix – “Boom Bye Yeah”. Its about 30 minutes of
electro, bailefunk, bmore and some random stuff.”
All I’m gonna add is, this has kept me moving all morning while I file stupid papers for school. I will admit, one of the most tedious things I have ever done.
