I HEART DIGITALISM, and bikes.

Just got back from a grueling morning of classes and was finally able to get some stuff done before I start studying for EXAM1.

FIRST!

I made double strap holders for the extra straps I had lying around. I’m soon going to replace those metal toe-pinching clips to plastic mtb style clips, so the doubles will really come into play. So, SUCK IT TOSHI DOUBLES!! I’m too poor for that shit.

SECOND!

digitalism is so sick! I have said it before, but Digitalism is like, totally awesome. There was a riff that had been haunting me for a couple weeks, and just today, I uncovered the mystery that was ‘Digitalism in Cairo’. That rippling bass line is better than CITS‘ MOTHER.

This is the first track off of the Idealism album and also has the signature ripply(c) bass so BOUNCE WITH ME!!!

I have decided to pick up the slack in non-french electro.

Also, while everyone’s posting the new “does it offend you, yeah?” video, I will post Digitalism’s excellent new single, “Pogo”.

NITECALLS THIS BITCH
pic: nitecalls

Last Friday night was a success. The mezzanine housed Belgium awesomeness, SOULWAX for the second time and it was a welcomed return.

JDH+DAVE P and FRISCO DISCO opened the show and people soon trickled downstairs onto the dancefloor. To really heat things up, they played some sure fire winners: Wolfmother - woman (mstrkrft), cajuan - dance not dance, and the obligatory daft punk toward the end of their set. By now the floor was warm and ready for some love.

Muscles came onto the set and made it rain ice cream. I honestly didn’t come expecting much from him but I was pleasantly surprised. His presence was sincere and the synth keyboard riffs were on point.

His set closed off with a thunder of applause and hollers, and seamlessly into the 2many DJs set. They played my favorite part of the night. I was really too busy going crazy for nitecalls to remember the tracks they mixed up, but it completely blew my mind.

2many DJs ended with the intro riff from KRACK joined with the drummer. I wish I had a set list, but when Soulwax came on, I was FREAKING OUT!!! They finished Krack and the rest was history.

I will let you in on a little secret. Towards the end of the set, they broke into the intro of JUSTICE’S “Let there be Light”. At that point I had shit myself and fainted. Hearing a live rendition of the already amazing b-side that puts the single “Waters of Nazareth” to shame is an unimaginable experience.

YOU HEAR THAT? I said it. Let there be Light > Waters of Nazareth. end of story.

Belgium is the new Australia? I say yes.

now for something you can hear:
not soulwax, not justice, not mstrkrft but:
Sondre Lerche - everyone’s rooting for you

gotcha bitches!!
