OHhhhh how I am ready for the weekend. Of course, you should know by now, Calvin Harris‘ latest album has finally been released and it is honestly a hit monster. It’s not perfect, but the ratio of hits to duds is unbelievable. I was somewhat on the fence about this album when I was first listening, but after some time of letting it settle, we have a winner. What really had me worried was the remix promo that he dropped a month before. I can’t think of one good thing about it! The Fake Blood remix came close to being good, but only half the track was listenable!
Obviously, what better a cut off of ‘Ready For the Weekend’.
To finish things off, here’s a little something I received a while back from O’Spada. It is undeniably funk and if you know me, you know I like my funk with a healthy dose of synth and modulation in all the right places. Wait till you get to the bridge -it will send chills down your spine.
People relax, get ready for the weekend.
Tuesday snack on Wednesday? Yeah, yous got a problem? (plus, I think doing this may have synchronized my Tuesday/Thursday numeration. yessss)
Sooo excited about this one. Super reader Cassidy sent me this in the AM and it’s been on repeat since then. Remember that Calvin Harris scored Pepsi commercial? Well he remembered I had asked for the single track and here it is! Mad props, Cassidy. (what’s your social networking so I can properly call you out?)

First of all let’s get into something that’s been owning my itunes/car/everything for the past couple weeks. Passion Pit’s latest album has been pretty sugary good to me, but the real gem here is Calvin Harris’ remix of ‘The Reeling’. He pulls the one synth I wanted to hear more of and turns it into a disco-harris-moment. Can you believe the bass on this one? Money.
Passion Pit – The Reeling (Calvin Harris Remix)
ps: check the pepsi commercial Calvin Harris did the score for. Can someone please get me a single of this? (link) (seriously, watch that shit over and over)
Here we go. Got this bad boy from Linus Loves a short while back after some weird email attachment issues. It’s a remix of Pixie Lott’s ‘Mama Do’ and………yep….we’re getting DEEEEEP. So deep in fact we need to adjust the pressure regulators for this.
Lastly, the Phoenix remixes have been coming through pretty much nonstop but I have to admit I haven’t been impressed. Is it because they make the vocals sound so ridiculously awkward? Maybe.
Someone prove me wrong, but this remix of Phoenix by Classixx is getting DEEEEEP like, fully. Kind of makes it a big deal. Here’s in my opinion, the best of the bunch. Somewhat getting Aeroplane vibes from the intro. agree? (check link to compare)
pps: sincerest of apologies for the poor writing. I’m sick. HAMTHRAX GOT ME!! send me tea and kisses.
