ALLO.  The summer weather in LA is uncharacteristic, for the lack of a better word.  June is here and thunderstorms, lightning bolts, and rain loom in the skies.

To continue with my series of summer music, Miami Horror will be the first in line for this post. (These) Guys aren’t strangers in blogdom, nor are they strangers here. I don’t remember ever posting any of their original productions, but let me preface this and say, it’s ALL GOOD HOMIE. All you need to do is close your eyes and pick any track he’s ever made and it will be gold.

Summer sounds its best with Miami Horror’s ‘Make You Mine’ off of the Bravado EP. Hand claps, bongos, SUPER FLUTE, summer, summer, summer. I hear some ‘Music Sounds Better with You’ filtered guitar riffs in there too. A healthy addition to any throwback. Can you hear it?

Miami Horror – Make You Mine

On the topic of gloomy skies in LA, remember back to the last post in which I mentioned Breakbot being signed to Ed Banger.  There was a remix I completely forgot about and it would have been quite fitting for the situation. Unholy matrimony at its best.

Breakbot remixed Ed Banger poster boys, Justice ‘Let There Be Light’. It is SO Breakbot, SO good.  Have your drink in hand by the pool and let this ride.

it was about this time last year

It was about this time last year when I was fanboy-izing over the eminent Justice LP release.

Spring brings
Ed Banger flings.

It’s about that time again, and for their 5th year in existence, they’ve decided to put together Ed Rec Vol. III.

Yeah, it’s pretty good. More of the same guys, making some exquisitely new sounding shit and it’s just loveable.

Disco metal champion, Mr. Flash, goes “Over the Top” and it’s, ummmmmm pretty unbelievable/awesome/proper/tally ho.

Get the teaser mixed by Feadz over at missingtoof

When this track first breaks the main rhythm transition into the guitars I get retro metal shivers!!! (chivers?)

sebastiAn called, he wants you to start disco dancing ASAP. It’s imperative.

The track has signature sebastiAn breaks, decaying snares, and whining synths. He definitely steps up his game in the soul/funk division with some Shaft status strings/trumpets/guitars.

This track will be out on the latest sebastiAn EP/sampler called MMA, out on who else…ed banger soulja boy records

This is why you need to forget what you once knew, and learn how to listen again.

love,
this guy.

the final version of Justice’s “Let there be Light” is definitely dope.

JUSTICE, again.

It has been leaked, and thanks to la new shit expect this to start flooding everyone’s mix sets.

This track is oh so French, and I’m getting into it. I had to interrupt a meeting in order to post this, so I’m stopping now.

Here’s what I believe to be the track, D.V.N.O. from the new album…probably a demo. or promo. or both. or neither.

UPDATE 9:56PM: this has been confirmed to be a radio rip. For those of you who were wondering, I’m pretty sure it’s Mehdi Pinson from Scenario Rock is the one behind these raw, striking vocals.

I’m really down with this track. The beat, vocal blending, and shit is spot on once again. Justice always has me guessing these days, and I’m impressed at their use of original samples. It’s good to see some fresh new stuff that everyone will soon be sampling from.
