I was in the giving mood and decided to share some very delicious things with the people I was going to be seeing. This is a Hey Cupcake! redux, complete with a very healthy Mathematikal on top.

Of course, the first thing that came to mind was the amazing Hey Cupcake! bakery founded and run by none other than southern california’s own Judy Park. Of course you all know how good these are already, since she’s been mentioned previously by me –but I am pretty sure you could use some more convincing.

I knew I was going to be seeing some very important people in my life last weekend so it was imperative that I came prepared with something very impressive (read: baked, frosted goodness). That’s where Hey Cupcake came into play. I snapped the above picture seconds after setting the box on the counter. A few minutes later, it was empty.

All weekend I was getting BB messages and calls telling me how effing delicious these little things were.

What would a good post like this be without a good track to go with it? My friends in Malta, Mathematikal, have perfect timing.

Their newest remix of The Kills – Cheap and Cheerful just arrived in my mailbox earlier today. After a couple listens, I realized it was the perfect addition to a post about Hey Cupcake!.

The magnitude of this track is really impressive. Cowbells, Tambourines, Handclaps, and that familiar dirty synth of Mathematikal. Well done boys!

The track starts out deceptively docile, so be careful.

I’m here, just got off on lunch break after 6 hours of clinicals and class. I go and check my mail…what do we have here?? The homies over at Mathematikal, doing their thing in London, dropped this BANGGGERR in my face.

Everyone knew Justice’s D.V.N.O. with vocals from Scenario Rock’s Mehdi Pinson would be a club hit, but the remixes keep coming. LA Riots just did their own little twist to the track, and now one of my recent favs, Mathematikal.

This remix is sooo legit. They bring the PLONK and make the booty go BLAM!!

That’s what I learned in school. I also learned recently that UK’smathematikal is awesome. I usually check my email once time outside of the office so I was pleasantly surprised to find a couple of their tracks in my mailbox. If you like glitch, vocoder, mashing, banging this is right down your alley (and mine). they call it plonk(?)

I’m planning a little mix set for the near future and these tracks have certainly earned their spots.
